ABOUT

An actor who lives in the gap between language & experience.

Carolina Vargas Romero is a Chilean actor and experimental performer, working across stage and film, physical and experimental theater.

Coming from a dance background, she began performing at fourteen on the Chilean television series Amango, then moved through theater, film, and performance — collaborating internationally and cultivating a wide practice of performance languages.

She holds a BFA in Theater from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and, as a Fulbright scholar, an MFA in Acting from the California Institute of the Arts. Her work — recognized with a CalArts Talent Grant, the Silver Torch at the Festival de Viña del Mar, and a Grotowski Institute residency — treats the unknown as a creative force: embodied, precise, and alive to the moment.
